May 2011: BooksAlive
BooksAlive! is a playful introduction to the skills of acting and performing that culminates in a "story-theatre" production adapted and devised by the performers, ages 8 to 14. The flexible format of the class helps to provide the right level of challenge for the student actors while allowing them to play multiple roles and encouraging their creativity in writing and improvisation. The program culminates in a short touring production (community centers and other summer school programs) and a showcase performance.
BooksAlive! classes are May 31 - June 25, 8am-noon. The cost is $240.
We are excited to offer an afternoon class, Radio BooksAlive, which will create audio pieces to be recorded at KUNM and aired on the Children's Hour. Classes run from May 31 - June 16, 1-3pm. The cost is $120.
All classes are held at the Auxiliary Dog Theatre - 3011 Monte Vista NE.

For over 20 years, Theatre-in-the-Making has introduced the magic of live theatre to thousands of kids, both as performers and theatregoers.
TiTM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, dedicated to the power of theatre to change the lives of individuals and communities.
Its programs culminate in first class productions that delight audiences, whether by making Shakespeare accessible or giving a voice to student concerns in original works.
But the production is just the end result. The process is of - at least - equal value. Our students learn how to work joyfully together, melding into an ensemble company, to achieve a profound experience not only of theatrical development, but also of individual growth.
Parents and teachers alike notice that TiTM kids find motivation, discipline, self-direction, and confidence.
